Alpha Zeta
What Is Alpha Zeta?
A Little Background
During November 1968 Mrs W Rolley convened a meeting at the Parsonage for the ladies of the New Street Methodist Church. It was decided that a permanent evening group should be established so that more ladies might be linked together for Christian fellowship, and to enable them to explore together new areas of culture, education and service within the Life of the New Street Methodist Church.
The Name
The group was, and is still known as the Alpha Zeta Club
When the New Street Church combined with the Black Street Church that's when Alpha Zeta came to Trinity.
Mrs Peg Love, who celebrated her 101st birthday in March 2019 is the only remaining member of the original New Street Methodist Ladies group.
Meetings are held on the fourth Monday evening of each month at 7.30pm, from February to November in Trinity House. The program consists of various activities - film nights, visiting speakers and any other bright ideas that the Committee can come up with.
The meeting begins with Devotions led by one of the members, a short business meeting, then the program for the evening, followed by supper which is always delicious
Everyone is welcome
